INTERNAL COMPLAINTS COMMITTEE ( ICC) UNDER ANTI - SEXUAL HARASSMENT CELL

The institution is committed to providing a safe and conducive environment for students and women at the workplace as per the Sexual Harassment of woman employers and students in the higher institution at (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.

OBJECTIVE
  • To prevent discrimination and sexual harassment against women and students in the college by promoting gender amenity
  • To fulfill the directive of the Supreme Court for all employers to develop and implement a policy against sexual harassment at the work place
  • Formation of Internal Complaint Committee for the prevention and redressal of sexual harassment and gender based violence in the Campus
  • Implementation of the written complaint through proper reporting and their follow-up procedures
  • Strict disciplinary action will be taken against the violators depending on the nature and extent of injury caused
INTERNAL COMPLAINTS COMMITTEE GUIDELINES
  • The Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) aims to protect students and women staff from any form of sexual abuse
  • In the case of any incident the complaint shall be in writing (typed/written) and signed by the aggrieved woman, relative /next friend/co-worker of the aggrieved woman. If unable to write, the complainant shall file a complaint orally, but documented by her witness, duly signed by the complainant. (SEXUAL HARASSMENT OF WOMEN AT WORKPLACE (PREVENTION, PROHIBITION AND REDRESSAL RULES, 2015).
PUNISHMENT

If the Internal Committee arrives at a conclusion that the allegation against the respondent is malicious/ false or misleading it may recommend to the competent authority to take action against the person who has made the false complaint.

COMPOSITION OF THE COMMITTEE

The Principal shall, by an order in writing, constitute a Committee. The Committee shall consist of the following members to be nominated by the Principal:

  • A Presiding Officer/Chairperson who shall be a senior woman faculty member.
  • Two members out of the faculty members who have legal knowledge or expertise in the subject.
  • Two members out of the staff/non-teaching employees who have knowledge or experience in the subject.
  • One or two external member(s) familiar with the issues of sexual harassment from governmental/semi-governmental or non-governmental organization.
  • Three student representatives, two from graduate, and one from post-graduate streams.
The Internal Complaints Committee for the academic year 2024-25 has been constituted by the Principal with the following members:

Member – External Member ( Nominated on case to case basis)

TERM OF OFFICE

The Committee shall be reconstituted every 2 years.
